Child's Song Helps a Good Cause - New Release from Greg Loiacono

A new release by Greg Loiacono of the Mother Hips celebrates family love, new beginnings and highlights a good cause too. In honor of Father's Day, Greg is releasing Child's Song. The song is available to listen to Friday, June 19th and all proceeds from Child's Song will go directly to The Blue Rose Foundation a nonprofit that provides preschool scholarships to children from economically disadvantaged families. The song is recorded by fellow Mother's Hips musician Tim Bluhm and it's a cover of Murray McLauchlan’s Child’s Song. It comes on the heels of Greg's second, full-length solo album Mystic Traces. And there's an interesting story as to how the song came to be. “My friend, Joe, sent me the Tom Rush version of “Child’s Song” last Fall in the midst of helping my son apply to colleges," shares Greg. "He said he’d like to hear my take on the tune and dared me to keep my eyes dry due to the particularly relevant content.” Greg approached Tim to record the song and once they had the version they wanted, they sent it to Joe for his enjoyment. "He decided to release it for Father’s Day because of its insightful expression of family love and the emotions that come with a child embarking on their own journey," adds Greg. For Greg this song, and the music he makes, is part of his never-ending quest to generate and celebrate the magic of shared human experience. In fact, it’s the entire reason the California native picked up a guitar in the first place. Greg's new album Mystic Traces is available HERE.
