Good Stories Should Be Shared
Blue Rose began as an artist-first label dedicated to supporting independent Americana Singer-Songwriters and heritage music artists while nurturing meaningful collaborations and projects. Built around a philosophy of artistic integrity and community, Blue Rose worked closely with a select group of troubadour style artists whose work reflects the deep storytelling traditions of American folk, country, and roots music.
From the beginning, Blue Rose was built with a commitment to both artistic development and social impact. Year after year, a portion of the label's revenue supported The Blue Rose Foundation, an initiative dedicated to providing preschool scholarships for financially disadvantaged children, reflecting a broader mission of investing in both creativity and community.
Over time, the label naturally became a curated catalog of timeless authentic contemporary American heritage songwriting. Today, the Blue Rose catalog represents roughly 1000 songs, from troubadour artists primarily connected to Northern California and the Northeastern United States, regions long associated with rich traditions of folk storytelling, independent spirit, and literary songwriting.
The catalog captures a particular lineage of artists/musicians who follow the traditions of the American troubadour. The Blue Rose owned recordings form a cohesive catalog with a strong cultural identity and relevance that continues to grow.
The catalog includes recordings, videos and other works from well revered singer-songwriters such as Jackie Greene, Steve Forbert, Tim Bluhm, The Mother Hips, and Cris Jacobs, among others who represent the enduring troubadour tradition of independent American songwriting.
The Blue Rose catalog represents more than a group of recordings. It is a thoughtfully assembled collection of timeless songwriting tied together by a clear artistic ethos, a bi-regional cultural identity, and a legacy of storytelling and community impact.
